Employment

  • You will need to complete an Essential Functions Test (EFT) to demonstrate your ability to meet the physical requirements of the role. If you have a background check or drug screen on file with UC Health, or provided by your current organization, it will transfer to HHS, so no new checks are required. However, if these are not on file with UC Health, you may need to complete them through HHS. Team members transitioning from other vendors to HHS will be required to complete new background and drug screens within 30 days of onboarding.

  • Yes, your UC Health hire date will be honored.

  • Your job will remain the same for now. There may be opportunities to change positions in the future.

    To be considered full-time with HHS, employees must work an average of at least 30 hours per week. New or transferring part-time team members must meet the 30-hour minimum to qualify for full-time status. Part-time status applies to employees working between 16 and 29.9 hours per week.

  • Your schedule will stay the same for the next 30-45 days. After that, there may be changes to shift start and stop times, days off, and work assignments. 

    We will do our best not to change your schedule if possible. Your director will manage all schedules and will let you know if there are changes.

  • Yes, HHS will provide uniforms as part of the transition.

  • Yes. The probation period is 90 days. Over the first 90 days, your director will assess all team members to make sure everyone is in the best job for their skills. Your director will let you know if there will be changes that affect you after 90 days.

  • CMS has lifted the mandate for healthcare workers to show full vaccination or exemptions. You must still confirm with your facility on what their policy is for COVID vaccination for vendor associates.

  • Yes, HHS has experience working with unions and will coordinate closely with your union representatives to ensure a smooth transition.

Pay

  • HHS will transition team members at their current base hourly rates. Similar to UC Health, HHS conducts annual compensation reviews for potential raises.

  • HHS and UC Health are committed to maintaining shift differentials with a focus on consistency and fairness across the facility, ensuring alignment with your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

  • Yes, HHS will be installing a new time clock. You’ll need to use it to clock in and out each day, and your director will guide you through the process.

  • You will be paid every two (2) weeks on Fridays.

    Pay periods are two weeks, beginning on a Sunday and ending on a Saturday. You will be paid the Friday following the close of the payroll period.

  • You can sign up for either direct deposit or a Rapid Pay Card. You can see your pay stub at myhhs1.com. Your director will give you login information on your first day with HHS.

  • Full and part-time team members who work on a holiday will be entitled to holiday pay at time and one-half for hours worked.

    Recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, in accordance with your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

  • HHS offers paid time off (PTO) for team members who work at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis, in accordance with your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). HHS will honor your tenure and hire date with the facility regarding any waiting periods to be eligible to use accrued time off..

    Vacations that have already been approved will be honored. Talk to your HHS director about new requests for vacations.

Funded by contributions from HHS stakeholders and corporate staff, even small paycheck donations—such as 50 cents—add up significantly, allowing us to aid colleagues in times of need.

  • Yes, HHS provides a 401(k) match, aligned with the terms of your Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Transition Process

  • This partnership includes food services and environmental services.

  • Town Hall Meeting: About 30 days before your hospital’s transition, HHS will host a meeting to discuss compensation, benefits, and specific transition details, all while working alongside your union.

    Onboarding: Begins 2-3 weeks before the transition.

    Transition Process: You’ll remain in your current role, with gradual adjustments to align with HHS practices.

  • If you’re on leave, you’ll remain with UC Health until you return. Your role will be held for up to a total of 12 months from the date your leave began, regardless of the transition timing.
